Product Description
The M159 is a purpose-built evolution of the M156, reworked so extensively for the SLS AMG (over 120 changes, by AMG's own count) that it earned an entirely new engine code of its own. The headline change is the lubrication system: the M159 swaps the M156's wet sump for a dry sump, letting the engine sit lower in the SLS's chassis for a lower center of gravity and sharper weight distribution in that gullwing supercar. AMG also fitted forged internals, revised cams and valvetrain, and a shorter-runner intake tuned for higher-rpm output, pushing the redline as high as 8,000 rpm in Black Series form and power from 563 hp in the standard SLS up to 583 hp in the SLS AMG GT and a spectacular 622 hp in the Black Series.
Weistec's calibration for the M159 is a software recalibration of the factory ECU, built to work with the dry-sump oiling, forged bottom end, and high-rpm valvetrain AMG already engineered rather than against them. It adds a real gain, 563 to 606 horsepower and 479 to 514 lb-ft of torque, through an OEM-level calibration process, with knock protection, thermal management, and the SLS's factory diagnostics left completely intact. W.1 is CARB EO-certified and 50-state legal, so that precision comes with zero compliance compromise. A supercar engine built with obsessive precision, calibrated to match that same obsession.

Complete The Upgrade
An ECU tune alone won't remove all factory limits or fix how power reaches the ground. Add these to round out the upgrade with no limitations.

What is a CPC module?
The CPC (Central Powertrain Control) is a separate control unit that manages things like the active exhaust valves, radiator fan, intercooler pumps, and speed limiter. On many newer Mercedes-Benz vehicles, it also houses torque limiters that can hold back an ECU tune from reaching its full potential.
What is a TCU tune?
A TCU (transmission control unit) tune delivers faster, firmer shifts with higher line pressure, reducing clutch slip and increasing the transmission's torque capacity. It's a worthwhile upgrade on its own, or paired with an ECU tune for a fully sorted powertrain.
Good to Know
- This is a reflash of your original module, not a stand-alone unit.
- Power gains vary by vehicle, modifications, fuel, and operating conditions (ambient temperature, altitude, etc.).
- New or upgraded spark plugs are always recommended when tuning.
- Product may not be emissions compliant. Check local laws prior to installation.
- Always use a battery charger during programming.
