Product Description

The 772.9 transmission has 7 forward gears and 2 reverse and is commonly found in Mercedes-Benz and AMG vehicles from 2006 to 2017. The transmission tends to overheat after a bit of spirited driving causing your vehicle to go into limp mode. Limp mode is a safety mechanism or fail-safe put in place to restrict the full operation of your vehicle to prevent damage when certain conditions are met, in this case, an overheating transmission. Our engineers have designed a transmission pan upgrade to overcome this and get you back to tracking your car!

Weistec vs OEM Transmission Pan Fluid Capacity

Increased Fluid Capacity for Better Heat Management

Our primary solution is increased fluid capacity. We have increased the fluid capacity by two and a half quarts. With more fluid in the system, temperatures will rise slowly as it takes more energy to heat the greater volume of fluid. The size difference is very apparent in the OEM vs Weistec Transmission Pan comparison.

Exterior Cooling Fins and Interior Baffles

Our interior baffles help transfer the fluid's heat into the pan while the exterior fins catch the air flowing under your vehicle as you drive for maximum cooling. In addition to the cooling functionality, the baffles also serve as an anti-slosh feature to make sure the transmission is always getting maximum fluid flow.

Transmission Pan Exterior Fins
Weistec Transmission Pan Two 8 ports

Upgradable Cooling

The pan also features two -8 ports that allow for the installation of an additional transmission fluid cooler for those that are seeking maximum cooling for their transmission. (Additional cooler not included)

Upgraded Neodynmium Magnets

The kit includes a set of powerful neodymium magnets to catch any debris in the fluid.

Fill and Drain Plug

Simplified Fluid Draining and Filling

For convenience, the pan also features a "Fill" plug and a "Drain" plug. The factory pan has only one plug that serves only as a fill. When draining it requires the removal of the pan from the transmission. The Weistec 722.9 Transmission Pan simply requires the removal of the "Drain" plug to drain the fluid allowing for quick and simple fluid changes. The "Fill" plug functions the same as the original plug in terms of the Mercedes fluid filling procedure for the 722.9 Transmission.
