What is a Dual-Clutch Transmission?
The Audi S-Tronic and the Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (also known as Lamborghini DCT or Lamborghini Independent Shifting Rod or ISR) are both 7-speed dual-clutch transmissions. The two transmissions are nearly identical due to Audi and Lamborghini sharing the same platform. The dual-clutch transmission’s performance is leagues ahead of the previous generation R-Tronic single clutch automated transmission found in the first generation of R8 (Type 42) and Gallardo. The dual-clutch allows for near-instantaneous, faster than humanly possible shifting. Some early iterations of Audi’s dual-clutch transmission can be found in the rally scene. A Quattro S1 was equipped with a dual-clutch transmission to boost loss that resulted from the slow shifts. Audi used this tech to win the 1987 rally at the legendary Pikes Peak. Today this tech is found in performance cars.
Transmission Tune
The transmission is controlled by a small computer in your vehicle known as the TCU (transmission control unit). Our calibration team at Weistec has carefully designed a TCU tune for your Audi R8 Type 4S and Lamborghini Huracan to help improve your vehicle's overall performance. Our TCU tune increases software torque limits and operational line pressure to help increase torque capacity and improved shifting speed with a reduced chance of slip. Less slip means less wear and tear on the DCT clutches in your transmission. What does this all mean for you? Better performance over all when combined with ECU tuning and other power adding upgrades up to and including our Huracan/R8 Twin Turbo System.
Key Features:
Faster Shifting
Increased Software Torque Limits
