Product Description
An oil / air separator, also known as a catch can, is designed to separate oil and moisture
vapor from the gasses exiting the engine's positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system. In
factory form, the PCV is plumbed into the intake system. Without an oil / air separator,
air mixed with oil can find its way back into the intake system which leads to the combustion
chamber. This leads to increased carbon build up, decreased performance, greater emissions,
and it could reduce the effective octane level of gasoline as oil has a very low octane value.
Reduced effective octane level could cause engine detonation or “knock”. The RZR Pro R Oil / Air
Separator System prevents all of this by firstly separating and catching the oil and moisture
exiting the crankcase, then venting to atmosphere in race applications to ensure the intake tract
remains clean of crankcase oil.
*Product may not be emissions compliant. Check local laws prior to installation.
The Weistec Oil/Air Separator System accumulates oil and moisture in the lower body which can be easily drained and recycled. Some vehicles may have more oil consumption or "blow-by" than others. If you are unsure whether your vehicle may or may not be one of these, check the oil separator every few trips to ensure the separator system is not filled.
